PRESS RELEASE – 10/22/21
The Collegiate League of the Palm Beaches (CLPB) is excited to announce its partnership with Prospect Select Baseball beginning immediately. The CLPB is a 10-team summer collegiate wood-bat baseball league located in Palm Beach County, Florida. The merger will serve to increase the CLPB’s footprint and reach in the collegiate summer league market, as well as enhance the league overall for it’s players, teams and affiliates.
Entering it’s 6th season of competition in 2022, the CLPB has grown from just 5 teams in the inaugural 2017 season to 10 teams for this past season. In addition to 4 league-owned clubs, the CLPB features teams from six additional organizations in the area. These six independently owned franchises include; the Parkland Sharks, Elite Squad, Wellington Colts, Vipers Baseball, Palm Beach Marlins and a new addition for next season PRIMAL 9.
While the CLPB is a highly competitive league, made up of talented collegiate players from across the country, the unique aspect of the league that sets it apart from many others is its developmental approach. A part of the development piece that the CLPB provides is its relationship with Cressey Sports Performance. Cressey Sports Performance is one of the industry leaders in training high-level athletes across all sports, but their roots are in baseball strength training and skill development as they train countless professional and amatuer players each year. Players in the CLPB are afforded unique access and the ability to train with Cressey Sports Performance during their stay in Palm Beach, allowing them the opportunity to take development to the next level and beyond just getting reps on field.
The CLPB strives to continue to keep up with the technology movement across baseball. To do so, we have partnered with FlightScope allowing for in-game data collection at every game. Additionally, GameKastLive.Tv provides the ability to livestream all games to friends, family, fans & scouts that can’t make it out in person.
Since its inception the CLPB has been a proud supporter of Palm Beach County and local partners. This continues to hold true, as all games are played at world-class facilities across the county. While Gardens Park home of Cressey Sports Performance in Palm Beach Gardens serves as a home base, the league also utilizes professional facilities at the Ballpark of the Palm Beaches in West Palm Beach and the Roger Dean Chevrolet Complex in Jupiter as well as some other local venues throughout the season.
“We are excited about the partnership between the CLPB and Prospect Select Baseball. Both companies have shown substantial growth over the last couple of years and match up well with a similar vision of helping young baseball players achieve their dreams. The future is very bright!” – Jeremy Plexico, President of Prospect Select Baseball
“The partnership with Prospect Select baseball will continue to enhance the visibility and growth of the CLPB, making it a tremendous option for collegiate baseball players in the summer. The attachment of one of the major players in the travel baseball industry to our league will provide us additional resources to attract quality players, coaches and staff from across the country, raising the caliber of the league for years to come.” – Evan Agona, CLPB Director
“I was just made aware that the Collegiate League of the Palm Beach and Prospect Select will be merging. Having these two groups coming together will make for an exciting time for baseball in Palm Beach County and all over Florida as well.” Jay Judson, Juno Beach Loggerheads Manager
