Avery recently graduated from Georgia Southern University with his bachelor’s degree in Rehabilitation Science. He will be applying to the doctorate of physical therapy program in 2021. With the aspirations of working as a physical therapist for baseball organizations, Avery saw the CLPB as an opportunity to work alongside athletes for injury prevention and overall strengthening. According to Avery, “I am beyond excited to watch these players grow into better athletes over the course of the summer! This experience will increase my knowledge on everyday activities and how it affects collegiate overhead athletes. The CLPB takes pride in their baseball program, but also with their recovery process. Not many summer collegiate organizations are as passionate about this. By understanding this process, I can provide athletes an optimal plan to maintain their arm health while being pain-free.”
Avery will be a huge asset to the CLPB this summer as he will serve in the “team operations” role. He will handle a lot of the day to day functions of the league ranging from set up, prep, game scoring, and social media. Along with this, Avery will be able to gain valuable experience in his field of physical therapy.
