Why did you choose the Collegiate League of the Palm Beaches?
I choose the league because it is close to home and my parents and
family. I will be very accessible to them and happy to have them so close
to me. Also, the league is very competitive and will help me improve
tremendously. My friends will be in the league this summer as well, so it
will be fun to compete with them.
What skills are you looking to further develop this summer?
I’m really looking to develop my power tool. Power is what I want to
work on before I get into college to better prepare myself.
What does “Team” mean to you?
A group of guys that have your back and who you can fall back on for
anything, then go out and win ball games. Simple as that.
How would you describe yourself in one word?
If you could have dinner with any major-league player, dead or alive, who would it be and why?
Mike Trout. He’s the best player in the game and I admire how he
carries himself on and off the field. By far, he is the best role model. I
never see him get into any trouble and always has a level head. I strive to be just like him as I continue my baseball career.
What number would you like to have on your jersey? Does it have any significance?
27. That has always been my number. This number has been passed
What motivates you?
Proving everyone that ever doubted me or every said that I couldn’t do
it, wrong. Personally, pursuing my goal as a pro player is my major goal
and that will continue to push me and keeps me hungry for more.
What would be the first thing you do with the money you get from your rookie contract?
Treat my parents to something special. After all they have done for me
and the support they showed me throughout my whole life, I think that
they deserve the world so I will definitely be taking care of them first.
What is one quote that you live by every day?
“Win the day”. If you get 1% better every day, then you’re one step closer to where you want to be than where you were yesterday.
